TOUR to Brunei kampong air - soas mosque
Wednesday, April 8, 2009
This is a backdated post though, but i would like to share the beautiful scenery of Brunei : )
With me is Dennis (from New York) and Cedric (from Philippines) and their first time in Brunei of course. Hence i brought them for breakfast at Mei Kong Cafe, and we had “Atas Satu” - two pieces of white bread with a 60% cooked friend egg on top - the idea is to spread generously with tomato ketchup on the egg to go with the plain bread, “Roti Kuning” - Thick yellow bread spreaded with Kaya (Coconut Jam) and cold butter. This is the local tea break food that you would not get it anywhere else in the world.
Then it’s just a minute walk to the jetty to catch the water taxi to Kampung Air (Water Village). We pay $20 for nearly an hour ride!
The Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin (S0AS) Mosque sitting in the city by the river bank and half surrounded by the Kampong Air.
